Ken Livingstone-Ray of Sunshine

ken livingstone

Some good news re the London Mayoral election. It has been reported that Ken has been seen apparently under the influence of alcohol at the recent World Economic Summit in Davos. The incident in Davos came after a Channel 4 Dispatches programme showed Mr Livingstone drinking whisky in London’s City Hall at 10am. He is also alleged to have been seen drinking an “amber liquid” at a session with voters in Ilford. One Cabinet source said: “We are worried about the reports of Ken drinking too much. If we lost London it would be a political disaster. And Gordon knows that.” The contest is seen as vital not just for deciding which party controls London, but as a mid-term psychological test for Gordon Brown. Boris Johnson, the Tory MP for Henley and Daily Telegraph columnist, topped the last opinion poll. Boris has recently been making friendly overtures to the licensed London taxi trade and has been interviewed by the LCDC ltd, which in my view is the only true voice for London’s licensed taxi drivers. Let’s hope that Ken will continue with and increase his penchant for the hard stuff and that Boris goes on to become the next Mayor of London. Asked on LBC Radio recently about claims that he often took a glass of whisky into meetings, Mr Livingstone joked: “Well I’m concerned about the amount I’m drinking because it’s nothing like enough.”
I’ll drink to that!
